PREACH FOR THE CALL - MAY 25
Session has accepted the Search Committee’s recommendation of a candidate to preach for the call on Sunday May 25.
We strongly encourage everyone to attend the service that day as it will not be live streamed.
We will be asking all members to indicate their approval of this candidate to be called as our minister at St. Andrew’s.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the members of St. Andrew’s Search Committee as well as our Interim Moderator, the Rev. Wayne Reid, and our former Interim Moderator, the Rev. Kathy Firth, who have all worked tirelessly to discern God’s will for our congregation.
The IB Dragonboating Team Served A Delectable Coffee Social on Good Friday.
CHECK OUT OUR LIBRARY!
Our church library has both fiction (along window side of the room) and non-fiction books, topics such as Christian living, Bible commentary, Bible times, prayer, devotions, dealing with life’s tough challenges such as grief, depression, etc., humour and many other topics.
The library is self-serve; just fill out the card in the front of the book and place the card in the little wooden box under the bulletin board. Are you looking for something specific? Ask Margaret Adams (in the library for an hour before and a while after the service on the second, fourth and fifth Sunday of the month). You can leave a note in the basket on the desk- please include your phone number so she can get back to you. Or call, text or email the church office and leave a message. For emails, please put “library” in the subject line.
Come in and browse- you never know what will catch your eye!

ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY - JUNE 15
Help Us Celebrate 150 Years of The Presbyterian Church in Canada and the 190th Anniversary of St. Andrew’s with Guest Pastor Dave Whitecross
The Rev. David Whitecross has been the pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Kanata since January, 2023.
The Toronto native initially pursued a career in maths and sciences, but in his fourth year of university a transformation of faith led him to Knox Presbyterian College in Toronto.
Pastor Dave has served congregations in Toronto, Calgary, Lindsay, and then for 17 years in Fergus, Ontario.
He was a successful youth minister in several postings, taking church mission teams to Nicaragua and Haiti.
Pastor Dave has an infectious sense of humour, an easy style that welcomes both younger and older, seekers and longtime church members, and offers a challenging and meaningful faith journey to those eager to grow in their relationship with God.
He is an astronomy buff, heads to the gym most days, reads non-fiction, and enjoys cooking for Aldo, his married partner of seven years.
LET’S CELEBRATE!
What an incredible week for our Ukrainian family!
First a wonderful new full time job for Dad, compliments of an amazing young Christian man who was willing to give him a chance. This is truly an answer to prayer.
Then Mom heard that she could possibly be allowed to go home to stay on April 24th. She is making good but slow progress and will require therapy for quite some time. She is such a strong woman who is determined to recover albeit that she pushes it a little too hard at times!!
And finally a wonderful birthday celebration for a beautiful eight year old little girl! On Saturday, April 12, St. Andrew’s Hall was alive with the sounds of laughter, excited young voices and music.
A group of ten young classmates enjoyed games, a pinnata smashing contest, pizza, birthday cake and of course the all important take home loot bags. It was a marvellous week of much deserved good news and happiness for this little family that has endured so many struggles.
Thanks again to all who continue in so many ways to help the family.
