DESSERT & GAMES NIGHT - February 23

ONE DAY LEFT to DONATE SOCKS!!

Starting March 17, through to March 23, Dawna Mahood of SOCKS for City of Kawartha Lakes, in partnership with the United Way CKL, has launched a new campaign in support of A Place Called Home’s emergency shelter to support the homeless in the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County.

Dawna says, “It’s easy to donate your new socks. Make your purchase, then drop them off at the following Lindsay locations: United Way – City of Kawartha Lakes, Marks, Loblaws, and Home Hardware. All new donated socks stay in the community where they are collected, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts – and toes.”

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

Are you interested in becoming a member of St. Andrew's or transferring your membership from another church? If so, call the office and let us know. An elder will follow up with you.

The input of adherents is always valued in our church, and we will be asking you for your signature to support the call for a new minister; however, only members can officially support the call of the new minister.

CHURCH ACCESS

Many thanks to all those who have returned their church keys. The new locks and security system are now in place! Please remember to return your old keys if you still have them. Reminder: if you need to borrow a key, or if you have any further questions, please contact the office.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

In March, the Sunday School participants are learning about Easter. Each week the focus is on a specific area of the Easter story: the triumphant entry, the garden, the crucifixion and the resurrection. During this unit the children are learning that Jesus was sent to save, the importance of prayer when we are afraid and alone, that Jesus died for us and that He lives. The children are also learning the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus. They are learning a song called Ho Ho Hosanna which they will lead in the worship service on Palm Sunday.

In April the children will learn about the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. They will make their own paper, write a few words of scripture in Hebrew letters, make clay jars and learn about how the scrolls were discovered.
